Professional Photos

It's that time again! The lovely Rhiannon Trask of Lollipop Photography took 9-month photos of James (and 3-year pictures of Amelie, too!) a few weeks ago.

James and Amelie crack me up in this one.

This one is my favorite.

My other favorite :)

She's getting so big!

There wasn't a clear winner for the sad-faced baby photo like there has been at previous photo sessions, but these two are close.

Conked Out

This will be the last photo of a sleeping kid for a while, I promise. Amelie must have been pretty tired, because she decided to lie down and take her nap right here, on the mat just inside the front door.

I thought she was well on the way to totally giving up her nap, and then this happens.

Spots

It's hard to be a baby. This is when James was sick, but pre-spots.

We didn't have our camera, and I couldn't really figure out how to use mom's very well. When the flash would go off, you couldn't see James's many, many Roseola spots in the picture. I took some in natural light and they showed up slightly better. They were fading by this point, but they really were quite a bit more alarming in person.

I'm pretty sure he's crying because I won't give him the camera.

All is forgiven.

New Swimsuit

Grandma Pat got Amelie an Independence Day appropriate swimsuit! And Shauna got her a Hello Kitty sprinkler for the yard (last year, I think). Thank you for the gifts!

The water pressure in the back yard is not the greatest.

Maybe it will work as a water fountain.

I think she looks kind of like Wonder Woman in her new suit.

We made it to Little Swimmers at the ARC once pre-sickness. It was loads of fun, even if there isn't much photo documentation. (It's impossible to wrangle babies plus a camera, so I tried to snap one real quick before we hopped in. The kids were understandably impatient with the delay.)

And, I picked up the new camera today! I haven't unpacked it and figured out how to use it, but we should at least be taking and posting some pictures soon.

On the Big Bed

I took these while Amelie was sick but before James came down with it. I was trying out my mom's old camera on loan. (I'm pretty sure we've had it since the last time ours was in the shop.)

He looks like he's modeling, though what I'm not sure. Maybe his flip diaper?

This one's my favorite.

I keep thinking he's going to crawl (for weeks now!) but so far, he'll just scoot around on his bottom and reach for things.

Double Stroller

Update: Poor James has had a rough go of it for the past week. Amelie gave him Roseola, and while she got over it quickly and without too much fuss, James is still feeling under the weather. Also, our camera has been in the shop, but they called to tell me that I can just come pick out a new one on Monday, since it's had the same 'lens error' problem before. The next couple of posts are pre-sickness.

Sam has been bugging me to take a picture of the kids in the double stroller. I got an In-Step double jogger on Craig's List and we've gotten a ton of use out of it. I recline the seat on James's side, but they usually both fall asleep if we're out for a nice big walk. I've even taken them 5 miles a handful of times so far. They're pretty content to ride and look at things. I take plenty of snacks and sometimes a book for Amelie.

And this is what they looked like when we got home:

Catching Up

There's no theme to these photos, other than I found them while organizing the pictures on the computer and they never got posted on the blog for some reason. This one is really old! I'm  not sure when it was taken, but it's from before I got my hair cut.

Amelie often re-purposes James's things. She doesn't look too happy about having her picture made, though.

Papaw reading to Amelie before bedtime.

I love this dinosaur shirt. It's from our friend Melissa. Her son wore it in his one-year pictures, I think.

This one was taken on Father's Day. James is a big fan of grabbing faces.

Well, I know there are some photos still on the camera, but at least I'm all caught up with what's on the computer. (I think!)

James vs. the Grass

I took these the first time James sat on the grass (versus on a quilt or blanket). He was not impressed.

I'm thinking the pictures are from early May. He doesn't come close to fitting in this onesie anymore.

Feeling it.

I don't like this stuff!

And it's everywhere! Get me out of here!

He's since warmed up to the idea of, you know, nature and being outside. However, that means he wants to stick bits of leaves and twigs in his mouth. Constant Vigilance!
