Finally, Those Professional Photos

We had professional photos made to commemorate Amelie's 2nd year. The lovely Rhiannon Trask of Lollipop Photography came out to take the photos and we went down to our neighborhood park again. She's the one who did such a great job with her 1-year photos, too.

These are my favorites:

Aunt Holly came along to wrangle the dog (when he wasn't in the photos):

Schroeder was a good sport about it all:

She even got to be in a few pictures:

Amelie is so big!

And silly.

Dada flew Amelie around:

And later (after a wardrobe change) held her some:

Mama's turn holding Amelie:

Since we were at the park, we needed to swing just a little:

All together now:

 Family portrait:

I think this one might give the other "sad faced baby" a run for its money:

Amelie at 9 months:

Not that she was unhappy for long:

I like this one because it shows how small she still is:

So sweet!

If you're on Facebook, I think you can see a few more photos here.

I'll print them soon to mail out and bring down with me to the Bootheel. If you'd like any in particular, let me know!

Follow-up Ultrasound

We had to have a follow-up ultrasound done last week. Everything checked out great, so hopefully that's the last ultrasound we'll have to do.

They confirmed again that they baby will be a boy, then did a few more of the strange-looking 3D ultrasounds. I'll have to put a newborn picture up to see how much this looks like the new baby after he's born:
I'm not sure how to straighten it out -- sorry it's all tilted!

The ultrasound technician said the baby had long legs, which is good! Maybe he'll be tall (and also very flexible -- the other leg was up by his head most of the time).

Everything was measuring at 25/26 weeks, which is just on target. He weighed just under 2 pounds.

Baby Bump

These pictures chronicle the ever-expanding baby bump. (If you want to compare pictures to my pregnancy with Amelie, click here.) I took the first one at 18 weeks:

20 weeks (about 4 months along) - This is when we had our ultrasound done. I'm still wearing (sometimes slightly modified) regular clothes:

22 weeks - over halfway done now! (And wearing maternity clothes!)

24 weeks (about 5 months along) - One of my internet friends commented that my posture is getting worse and worse in the pictures, so I'll try to stand up straighter next time.

26 weeks:

Happy Father's Day!

Sam's Father's Day card may or may not be a youtube video:

Still shots from our professional photos (I'll upload more of these soon!)

Amelie & Sam when she was just 2 days old:

Grandpas deserve some love on Father's Day, too! Grandpa Buffaloe and his granddaughters:

I think I've mentioned that he's the only one willing to consistently humor Amelie's demands requests to go see the cows.

Papaw Leroy & Amelie:

Great-Grandpa Bob:

Great-Grandpa Kohler & 10-week-old Amelie:

In what's becoming tradition, Sam made us breakfast this morning. I know that's a little bit backwards, but I'll take it :) I think we'll go out to dinner tonight. I hope all of the dads out there have a great day!

Visit to Nana Jana's

Amelie spent Memorial day weekend with Nana Jana while Mama and Dada had a mini-vacation in St. Louis, going to a Cardinals game and some toddler-unfriendly restaurants :)

There's a super-fun water toy at Nana Jana's house.

Okay, Amelie can have a short attention span.

I'm pretty sure she's pointing at the dogs here, perhaps they are being naughty.

And maybe some neighbor dogs in this one:

Thank you very much, Nana Jana! Amelie had a wonderful time!

Daycare Graduation

I'd forgotten that I had these photos in the camera! Amelie's daycare provider retired this summer. Aunt Holly and my friend Shauna are still watching Amelie in the gap between my night class and when Sam gets off of work on Tuesday/Thursday, and Grandma Mary Beth has been watching Amelie on Mondays and Wednesdays when I have my day class at MACC. Seven more weeks of summer school, then I'll be staying home next year with both kiddos.

Anyway, two of the girls in her class (the bigger ones!) graduated and will go on to kindergarten in the fall. It was a luau-themed program. Amelie does not look particularly thrilled to be participating.

This one's a little better -- they're singing:

She wanted to stand by Charlotte:

They sang "These Are the People in the Neighborhood." Amelie does not look thrilled to be a part of this skit, either.

What's going on back there?

That's a little better.

This is Amelie and her friend swinging in Ms. Linda's back yard:

She loves the tire swing:

So much fun!

Professional Photos

This post is something of an early preview/placeholder. We had professional photos done with the lovely Rhiannon Trask of Lollipop Photography for Amelie's second birthday. Here's the one we've seen so far -- the rest of the album should be available sometime next week :)
