Writing

Amelie has been struggling with writing in Kindergarten. (Mostly, she just doesn't want to do it and dawdles during writing time and has to finish during "choice time" - and a few times she's dawdled during choice time, too, and had to finish during recess or at home.) But on Thursday, she did two and a half pages! Her teacher sent me this picture. She is so proud.

P.S. I'm pretty sure all I ever had to do in Kindergarten was 1 sentence with a picture on top.

  1. That's so crazy that they take away recess time! You're not allowed to take away recess here for any reason, even behavior. You can deduct up to like 5 minutes but that is it.

    1. I think that's great! MORE recess helps kids act BETTER. And I wish they'd spend more time drawing rather than having to do the sentences/letters so early. That kind of fine motor is exhausting (hence the need for more recess).

In the afternoon, they have lunch, then recess, then math, then another recess. I think Amelie would benefit from that kind of sandwich with writing, too.
