I had a grand plan to take the kids to St. Louis during Spring Break & do something fun - St. Louis & St. Charles had their spring breaks the week before us, so I thought we could go during the day during the week & miss the crowds. The initial plan was to go to the Science Center & spring for the extra planetarium tickets & eat at Fitz's and see them bottle the rootbeer.
HOWEVER, I didn't do adequate research & only found out the night before that the Science Center is actually closed on Wednesdays (since COVID, I think) so we made a last-minute switch to City Museum. We didn't get to see them bottle the rootbeer, either, but we did try all the varieties they had on tap at Fitz's.
Leah had never been & it had been a long time since Sam had taken the big kids.
You can see Leah's kneepads - to help with all the climbing! Sam wore his, too.
James climbed way, way up!
We took a break and spent $36 on slushies. James got his a mix of 2 flavors & Leah had the only one without red dye:
I believe this is the world's largest pencil:
Super cool found art pieces:
This part was a little scary!
Here's the school bus from the street below:
And here's James standing on it:
I told James that he & Amelie could maybe go off on their own some next year - which probably they could have done this year - but they were very excited about the prospect.
