James's science class did a project where they had to make Rube Goldberg machines to turn on a flashlight (I believe originally they were supposed to make the flashlights themselves, too, but that part was scrapped.) Here's one of the original cartoons from Mr. Goldberg himself.
There were several other requirements, and he had to draw up a blueprint & explain the 6 different steps (minimum) & different types of energy transfer.
James had lots of ideas, and Sam & I helped.
