Leah was left mostly to her own devices yesterday while Sam and I worked around the yard. I love that she loves apples as a snack. I don't love the way I find these about the house:
And this is all from one day (5 big apples!) I cut off the bites and sliced these up for the kids to have with caramel sauce for dessert after supper. The whole scene reminded me of this:
Beezus finds Ramona in the basement with a box of apples, taking one bite out of each and then tossing them aside. Beezus says, "You can't eat one bite and then throw the rest away." Ramona responds, "But the first bite tastes best," and picks up another apple. I remember in Ramona they made applesauce out of the pile of apples with one bite out.
