Christmas Eve

I think we're six years running with our Christmas Eve tradition of attending candlelight service and then going to the magic tree.

There were real candles and also electric candles (for the first time this year - last year, there was an incident of hair singeing - not my family this time!) Amelie had a real candle, and she took her responsibility very seriously.

Leah has an electric candle. This photo's a little blurry but her Santa dress was a big hit. She also wandered up front to contemplate the manger for a bit.

James managed to fall in the water feature at the magic tree, but that didn't dampen his spirits.

Sam likes this picture of these two for some reason.

Here's the Santa Dress in action again.

Isn't this wonderful? Leah liked the lights.

It reminds me of this one from last year:

Or maybe this one from the year before that:

I think the big kids were off playing by the waterfall by this point, so we took a selfie with the toddler.

She was pretty pooped by the end of the evening (that might be a good reason as to why they always sleep in on Christmas morning - post still to come.) Also, note the boots - we were prepared for the mud this year!
