It looks like she's using a particularly unappealing self-created shade of brown-gray (or maybe it's just the rinse water) in this one.
Anyway, as you can tell by the picture above, our prior solution for not getting her clothes completely messy was to let her paint without a shirt on. Grandma Pat got her a smock to solve this problem. Thanks, Pat! Amelie calls the smock her "painting dress."
After a little while, she stopped painting the paper and started painting the rocks that were holding it down.
Unfortunately, the smock did not keep the paint out of her hair. Fortunately, the Crayola paint is washable!
